Communication Channels

We welcome parents/caregivers and community members to join our team of helpers. We appreciate, and need, the assistance of family and whānau in all manner of ways.

Communication between School & Home

Marina View School uses our Student Management System HERO as our main method of communication for newsletters, notices and messages. Parents/Caregivers can download the HERO app on their mobile where they will receive notifications for any message sent.

It is very important that Parents/Caregivers set up access to HERO as soon as their child is enrolled, in order to receive important information and notices from the school.

Our Communication Channels

The School Newsletter is sent out every fortnight on a Thursday through HERO. Upcoming events can be found in this newsletter. The newsletter is also uploaded on our school website.

Team Newsletters are sent out via Hero at the start of each term, with information about the learning and activities planned for the term ahead.

Trip notices/permission slips are sometimes sent out in hard copy, or a Google Form link via Hero.

The Marina View School Website also has important information and a calendar for upcoming events.

The Electronic Noticeboard at the front of the school contains notices about upcoming events also.

Connect Throughout The Year

We see a strong partnership between home and school as a vital for the well being and progress of every child at our school. Parents, caregivers and whānau are welcome and encouraged to make contact with staff throughout the year. Some opportunities for this include:

Term 1: Meet the Teacher afternoon / Goal Setting Meetings
