Beetroot

Chosen for consistent performance in the home garden. Beetroot is an excellent root vegetable crop that stores for months. It is best grown quickly and responds well to fertiliser. They require well drained, friable soil in a sunny position.Harvest these when they are no larger than tennis balls.

Interesting facts
Just make sure you dig it up and cut the leaves off – not too close to the base or when you cook it – it will “bleed” and loose its colour
